How to Credit Images the Right Way

I have been writing here for months now. I was not even a writer when I first started writing here. With each article written here by me, I have learned something.

And today, I’m going to give you one thing I learned😀. And I will be adding every lesson about blogging to the following list. So, you never have to work hard to find them.

Today, You will learn…

  1. Why do you need to credit images?🤔
  2. How to do it properly.😎
  3. How to find great images.🤗

And a lot more. So, sit back, relax, and listen to me well.

I learned a lot from my mistakes. When you first start something in your life, you will make many mistakes. Right! That’s how we all learn. But we have to keep improving by learning from our previous wrongdoings.

One such thing almost all the new writers are doing is The wrong usage of pictures. You cannot include any picture you think fit within your story.

  1. You have to avoid copyrighting.
  2. You have to credit the Authors.✅

Today, I’m going to tell you, how to find beautiful pictures for your stories and how to credit them properly, so you will not face any copyright issues later.

Why do you need to credit images?🤔

It’s simple. That image you are using on your blog is not yours right? Someone has worked hard to take that photograph.

So, simply we have to give him some value because he will give you the chance to use his work for free. In return, we should give him free marketing. That’s how it works.

If you not giving credits,

  1. You may get a copyright and lose your entire work or your entire account.
  2. Publications will not publish your work.
  3. May have to face legal issues (rarely).

So, why take a risk? It doesn’t cost anything.

In the next section, I will show you how to find amazing pictures for your next article and with steps to credit them.

How to find pictures & Credit them.

Alright! you have plenty of options to choose from when you find the perfect image for your article. But keep in mind,

😶 Don’t ever use Google.

Avoid using Google or any typical search engine to search for images. There is a high chance of getting copyrighted if you do so.

The best sources to find are,

1. Unsplash.

Unsplash is a great library with millions of high-quality free-to-use pictures. It is the built-in feature on the medium to choose images.

🟩 It is very easy to give credit to the user using its built-in mechanism.

🟩 Head over to Pexals by clicking this link.

🟩 Has high-resolution images

🟩 Millions of images to choose from.

You can use them by clicking on the + icon when you hit Enter and choosing the Unsplash icon as in the above screenshot.

2. Pexals.

If you are not an Unsplash fan or if the picture in your mind is not on there, the best destination to head out is Pexals.

To me, I personally prefer Pexals over the Unsplash. It has a wider variety of images and a much larger library. The only thing is it is not embedded on Medium. So, you need to go there and pick it up and credit it separately.

But it’s not rocket science. I will show you how to do it properly.

✅ Head over to Pexals by clicking this link.

✅ Search for what you need.

✅ Click on this Free download button as I have shown below.

✅ Then Copy his credit link by pressing this button.

✅ Import the downloaded picture wherever you want.

✅ Paste it on “Type caption for image” which comes when you click on the image.

🙄 It will look like this shit. Ugly right?

✅ To make it cleaner, select and cut the highlighted link by pressing Ctrl + x and paste on his name.

That’s it you have perfectly credited the images.😊

3. AI-generated images

Haha! Did you think I forgot it?

Nope. Today, this is the most conversational topic in the world. And now you can generate your own images in a couple of minutes. It’s that easy.

Look at how I have generated an image according to my needs for an article about How to find your Niche.

Image generated by Author with Leornadi.ai

And crediting them is so much easier. Just use this script, “Image generated by Author with <<Generator Name>> and you are good to go.

Paste it on Good Writer

To paste the credits you copied from whatever platform you choose, come back to the Good Writer text editor and;

🟩 Click on the image you want to credit.

🟩 Tap the highlighted icon.

🟩 Paste in the prompted caption area.

It is that simple.

That’s it guys. Keep practicing what I said every day. With time you will get used to it and will do without any huss.
