How I Got My First 100 Followers on Medium in 30 Days

I have always loved writing, but I never thought I could make a living out of it.

Writing was a personal endeavor for me, a source of joy, therapy, and self-expression.

Yet, I never shared my stories with anyone.

The fear of rejection, criticism, or simply being overlooked held me back. I doubted whether anyone would care about what I had to say.

But then, I discovered a gold mine.

I discovered this amazing website, a platform where anyone can write and publish their stories, and where readers can find and support the writers they love.

The concept of sharing my stories with the world, receiving feedback, and gaining encouragement from other writers and readers intrigued me,

so I decided to take a leap and give it a try.

Immediately I created my account, completed the basic profile setup, and started writing.

I penned down my passions, experiences, and opinions, and even crafted fictional stories that popped into my mind. I wrote about topics that held significance for me, things I hoped would matter to others.

I wrote with honesty, emotion, and creativity. I wrote something every day, without fail.

I didn’t stop with that. I was able to publish some of my articles in publications. And here you can see one of my first-ever publications in a pub.

It’s not about just writing

But I didn’t just write. I also read. I read a lot of stories from other writers on Medium. I learned from them, I admired them, and I connected with them. I left comments, claps, and follows. I joined publications, communities, and newsletters.

I engaged with the medium ecosystem, and I enjoyed it.

I didn’t wait for someone to stumble upon my articles; I constantly shared them on my LinkedIn and Instagram.

  1. I directed some of my friends to read my articles, taking the initiative to bring my work to a broader audience.
  2. And I attached links to my other stories within my articles, just like I have done below.

And then, something amazing happened.

Some people started to notice me. I’m not talking of hundreds here, but some started to read my stories, and they liked them.

They left comments, clapped, and followed.

I was thrilled. I was grateful. I was motivated. I continued writing, reading, and engaging.

I persisted in improving, learning, and growing. I kept sharing, connecting, and collaborating with other writers. I maintained the enjoyment, expressing myself, and discovering my voice

I reached my first 100 followers.

I did it. I couldn’t believe it. I had achieved a milestone that I thought would take forever.

I had built an audience that cared about what I had to say and had made an impact that I never imagined.

I had fulfilled a dream.

It’s all because of you!
